Buy me a coffee

July 5, 2008 at 8:07 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 12 Comments

Hi everyone,

It’s been an amazing experience and a lot of fun working on my projects for the last couple of months. I’ve met people from all over the world, machinima authors, gamers, modders and basically just wow-lovers.

But time comes where I have to think about money. It all started as a private project, having fun exploring the game files and getting to know as mutch as possible about every single bit of it. But it’s just getting to time-expensive the last weeks and there’s just no benefit from all my work so far expect the very few “thank you”‘s i’ve received so far.

So please feel free to buy me a coffee to keep working all night long for further developments on my tools 🙂

Thanks and have a fantastic weekend

June 27, 2008 at 11:16 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 2 Comments

Hi there,

Just received a lovely E-Mail from my Webspace-Host that they banned my account (thanks Blizzard I guess).

So I’ll fix/reupload things next week when I’m back in Switzerland.

Update from Far East

May 20, 2008 at 9:41 am | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

Hi there,

UPDATE2:

Blizzard changed the structure of some filetypes in WotLk and I just don’t have the time to figure everything out at the moment. I’ll be on a trip the next couple of days (yes, I’m still in Japan), so you just have to be patient until a next download is gonna be ready… sorry 🙂

(Working things: M2-Export, WMO-Export) – ADT changed a bit (new chunks etc), so I just need time to figure that out.

UPDATE1:

Was working on the Table Viewer again, fixing missing WotLk DBCs and stuff, I’ll upload a new version in a few days.
PS: I’ll also upload a new version of the Model Exporter in a couple of days.

————————

WotLk Alpha is out, so I just HAD to work today on some fixes and updates regarding my tools.

The problem with my webspace provider still exists, so there is a zip-download which does the job for you. Just double-click the “TableViewer.application” file and the application should install. If you encounter problems, please remove any previous installed version of the table-viewer via the control panel -> software -> remove application option.

There are a lot of new features in the WoW-Table Viewer, just have a look at the change history to find out whats new.

Have fun exploring the WotLk Alpha 🙂

Download issues

May 17, 2008 at 11:12 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 2 Comments

Hi all,

Received a lot of mails recently regarding issues downloading and installing my tools. It seems that my webspace-provider changed some settings so the downloads stopped working a couple of days ago. Because I’m still in Japan enjoying a timeout from work I can’t do a lot to fix this problems.

Sorry for the inconvenience

Some Localizations

April 26, 2008 at 1:09 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

Hi,

Today was the first time I felt like doing some “computer” work. So why not doing some Asian-Localizations while I’m in Japan 🙂

I’ll let the full “Update Batch” run when I find some trusty Internet-Connection.

Timeout

April 1, 2008 at 12:17 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 3 Comments

Hi everybody,

The week I was waiting for has finally come. I’m leaving to Japan for the next couple of months, having a timeout from work and my busy computer life 🙂

I’ll definitly find time answering mails (questions etc.) but there won’t be any updates or anything like that for quite some time.

Hey look, it’s Server Data!

March 31, 2008 at 1:20 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 Comment

Hi folks,

I put some love into server-data gathering (again) and I thought why not publish the results to you guys.
The cache-files are actually a lot like the WDB files stored in your WoW-Cache directory (they contain almost the same structure), except the fact that my files probably contain WAAAYYYY more data 🙂

tableviewerserverdata2.jpg serverdataitemcache.jpg

Basically you find every single item in the ItemCache.cache file (23k+ records), every Quest in the QuestCache.cache file and so on. I’ll try to update the files on a regular basis. Most of the data is brandnew directly from the 8089 client, just gathered with my little WDBGatherer addon today. So if the “LastValidVersion” column tells you it’s a 8089 record, it’s newly updated with the latest live-data.

The GameObjectCache file is old and quite useless at the moment. But because it’s doesn’t contain “important” information I’ll let it as it is.
Please always keep in mind that all the data/records are gathered from different providers (WDB Files, Allakhazam, WoWDB etc.), so there is always the possibility that some data is missing or wrong.

What could you guys do with all this data? Well, you could build some pretty nice addons or websites or whatever with all the information. Look at it like a small version of WoWDB 🙂
I’ve build some pretty nice things myself with the data (WoWModelViewer-List, WDBGatherer Addon etc.)

REQUEST:
I’m looking for a willing dude with a taiwanese, chinese, russian and/or korean WoW-client to fill in the missing localizations in the cache-files. Thanks in advance.

NOTE:
You probably have to uninstall your previous version of WoW Table Viewer via “start -> settings -> control panel -> software” due to changes in the deployment process.

Quick Note

March 27, 2008 at 4:08 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 2 Comments

Just a short info:

I had to change some things in the deployment process. If you encounter problems starting an application (Invalid Manifest File), remove the application (start -> settings -> control panel -> software) and reinstall it from the download-page.

Updates, updates, updates

March 23, 2008 at 7:02 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 Comment

Hi,

Well it seems that finally some people found this page.
The download-counter of my tools is constantly increasing. Although I haven’t got a lot of feedback yet, my tools seem to work… kind of 🙂

I’m trying to bug-fix and update as often as I can. So if you do have suggestions or found some ugly exceptions just inform me and I’ll fix it as soon as I can.

Here’s a screen from a new feature in the Table-Viewer (Batch Export):

PS: Just managed to import everything into MS-SQL 2005 with this.
