LF Webspace…
March 13, 2008 at 5:34 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsUPDATE:
Thanks for all the support/offers, I’ve found some webspace!
Houston, we have a problem!
It seems that my webspace provider is not as reliable as I thought (downloads are not really working at the moment) :(
So basically I’m looking for little webspace (about 100mb) where I can upload my tools/setups. So if you have some space left and a working FTP upload, please contact me (wowexplored@gmail.com) and help a poor little developer to publish his tools to the community. Otherwise there won’t be any updates soon…
ps: I was just about to release a new version of the WoW Model Exporter with some additions but now I’m stuck.

Finally, what everybody was waiting for… WoW Model Exporter
March 12, 2008 at 1:16 pm | In Uncategorized | 3 CommentsHere’s my next release, the WoW Model Exporter.
You can export Models (.m2), World Models (.wmo) and World Maps (.adt) files to MS3D including texture generation and lots of other things.
An additional nice feature is to browse the items / npc’s / creatures by their names and find the matching model-file.
There is still a lot to do in the character-export section (automatic geoset-disabling, skin-browser etc.), but hey, it’s just my first release and you guys need some things to look forward to, right?
So be patient for an update with improvements in the sections characterskin-design/tabard-design.
Feedback
If you find a bug please send me as mutch information as you can (modelfile which causes the bug, skin used, etc.)
Suggestion, Bug reports, Questions all goes to wowexplored@gmail.com
Have fun rendering WoW Models

Betatesting, anyone?
March 8, 2008 at 12:58 am | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsSo here we go… I’ve finally put something together for you guys out there.
My first two public releases are out.
You need:
- .NET Framework 2.0 or higher
- MS Windows (Mono etc. have problems with ClickOnce Applications from what I’ve heard)
- WoW PTR Client 0.4.0.8031
Texture Converter
Nothing special, just a little tool I wrote a couple of months ago to convert BLP<->AnyImageFormat. I guess it’s quite useful for machinima artists or model designers/editors. There is also a simple Texture-Browser included… not as good as in WoWMS but maybe I’ll update this project if I get enough feedback
Table Viewer/Editor
It looks simple at first, but you can do pretty amazing stuff with this little baby. Browse all the ingame tables and save/export/edit them in many ways.
The applications are self-updating. So don’t be irritated if your firewall’s popping up by the time you start the exe.
You can block the applications if you want, it will work but you just have to check manually if there is an update available (and probably there gona be quite a lot the next few days and as long as the PTR is up).
!! What I need from you guys !!
As you have some of my tools now, I need something from you as well… and that’s feedback, bug reports, feature wishes etc. Feel free to contact me at wowexplored@gmail.com. And please always be aware that the applications are in “Beta” status right now.
NOTE: I had no chance to test the applications with an english WoW-Client. So there might be some issues regarding to german texts showing up instead of the english ones.
Btw: Some other tools (ModelExporter, GameFile Browser etc.) are in the making and will be released soon.

Ingame ItemBrowser/Gatherer
March 3, 2008 at 2:54 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentDear diary,
I was playing around with the new items on the PTR (ItemInfo Addon) but after a couple of minutes I got sick of disconnects caused by invalid item-id’s. And so I came up with an idea to extend AtlasLoot with some additional pages with the PTR items.
And here’s the result.
The addon-extension files are automatically generated like the WoWMV export files. So there’s no real limit what to export(It’s actually possbile to generate a file that includes every single item, but I was just interessted in the PTR files).
Now it’s fun playing around on the PTR and discover new items ![]()
There are lots of items that haven’t even gathered by WoWDB like the Tabard shown on the screen.

I <3 PTR days
February 9, 2008 at 7:43 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentHi all,
It’s like Christmas and my birthday rolled into one. Yes, it’s PTR day! ![]()
New content to explore, new tables/data to figure out, new models/textures to manipulate… I’m loving it.
After updating my little project to 2.4 (DBC-Definitions etc.) there was one single file that caught my attention. I’m talking about Item.dbc. Finally Blizzard put an internal Item-List in the gameclient, holding some of the basic informations (Item-ID, ItemDisplayInfo, InventoryType, SheathType).
I couldn’t resist and had do something with this file, but what would be useful? Well, everybody knows the WoWModelViewer, so why not building a valid and complete items.csv file with all the information provided?
And here it is, a complete items.csv with every valid item known by today. But hang on, what about the NPC-Weapons/Armors and the unknown, “never-seen-before” items defined in the game-client? Ok ok, you can have these item-definitions as well.
As you can see it’s also possible to browse by Item-ID / ItemDisplayInfo-ID. Just put the ID in WMV’s “Filter”-Textbox.
Happy browsing

Server data
February 7, 2008 at 1:10 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentAfter doing a lot of export/import stuff during the last couple of weeks I decided to put some love in server-data generation. Basically it’s all about rebuilding every item/quest/gameobject etc.
I already implemented server-data gathering a while ago, so I just rewrote some ugly code and put some additional forms on the screen.
The fact that Blizzard released their own armory/arsenal websites makes it possible to kind of “validate” the gathered items from Allakhazam or even receive all the information from Blizzard itself.
Other dudes projects
January 30, 2008 at 1:51 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentReceived some mails over the last couple of weeks about my wow-dev work. Some of the mails are just crap questions about stupid things from kiddies, but some are very interessting from talented people.
Basically it’s all about supporting them with exports (textures, models and so on). There’s one guy doing an UT3 map based on WoW-Terrain/models. How fun would that be: shooting heads on a wow-terrain
![]()
(Doesn’t that look nice, parallax mapping, smooth shadows and lot’s of other UT3-engine supported features. Wish the WoW-engine could handle such things
)
Another one (Malu05 himself) is working on a futuristic movie set in a stormwind-like environment.
Once again: I’m always happy to help other people as long as they can proof some skill/work/projects they’ve done in the past. So feel free to contact me via e-mail or msn (wowexplored@windowslive.com).

WMO / Models
January 30, 2008 at 3:31 am | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsIt’s 4:24am and I’m #§¦@# tired… so here it is, the WMO export feature INCLUDING all of the models.
Btw: I HATE matrix-calculations… and what the heck did Blizzard think when they implemented their fileformats? No consistency at all. It’s like playing lottery, the chance you put the right vector-coordinate in your calculation is like 1 to 6345257
